The Office - Haus der 1000 Scherben
Das alte Bürogebäude steht schon seit ein paar Jahren leer und wartet seitdem auf seine neue Bestimmung. Leider konnte ich über die Geschichte des Gebäudes kaum etwas in Erfahrung bringen. Das ursprüngliche Unternehmen, das es errichten ließ, teilte sich das Gebäude im Laufe der Zeit mit diversen anderen Firmen, vorranging aus der IT-Branche.
Da das Gebäude ein reiner Glasbau ist, scheint es für einige Mitmenschen eine regelrechte Einladung darzustellen so viel wie möglich davon zu zerstören. Der Komplex scheint bereits in seiner Auflösung begriffen. Im Innern ist der Vandalismus schon sehr stark fortgeschritten. Das Haupttreppenhaus, mit fehlenden Geländern und mit einer Schicht aus zentimeterdicken Glasscherben übersäht, ist eigentlich nur noch unter Lebensgefahr als solches nutzbar.

The old office building has been abandoned for a couple of years and is has been waiting since its closure for its new purpose. Unfortunately, I hardly have any information concerning the history of the building. The original company, which erected it, shared its space with other businesses - mostly from the IT sector.
Since the whole building is a glass complex it seems to be some kind of attractive invitation for some people to destroy everything completely. Inside the vandalism has left its traces all over the place. The former main staircase is covered in thousands and thousands of glass splinters piling up a few centimeters. In addition, the banisters are mostly missing - which makes it only usable at the risk of one´s life.
